Sacred Creatures: Henry the House Cat

Meet Henry.
Henry lives in my house, but let’s be honest — Henry believes I live in his.
Henry’s daily responsibilities include:
• Supervising all snack activity
• Appearing mysteriously when
food wrappers open
• Walking across keyboards during
important moments
• Staring into the void like he knows
secrets he refuses to share
• And occasionally knocking things
off tables purely for scientific
research
You know… normal cat behavior.
But cats have carried spiritual symbolism for thousands of years, and honestly, watching Henry operate, it makes a lot of sense.
Cats have long been seen as protectors of the home’s energetic space. They move quietly between rooms, between moments, between moods. They notice things humans overlook.
In many traditions, cats represent:
🐾 Intuition and awareness
🐾 Guardianship of the home
🐾 Independence and sovereignty
🐾 Mystery and unseen energy
🐾 The balance between comfort
& curiosity
Cats don’t follow energy.
They study it.
They watch quietly.
They wait.
They move only when they decide it matters.
Which is probably why so many ancient cultures saw them as companions to witches, healers, and mystics.
Because cats understand something humans sometimes forget:
You can be soft and warm…
and still absolutely in charge of your space.
Henry embodies that perfectly.
One moment he’s curled up like a tiny angel.
The next moment he’s halfway inside a bag of chips like a furry snack burglar.
Sacred creature?
Absolutely.
Also a thief.
But honestly… that’s part of the magic.
