Intuition vs. Discernment

Not every strong feeling is intuition.

Sometimes it is fear.

Sometimes it is trauma.

Sometimes it is a wound asking to be heard.

Learning the difference between intuition and discernment is one of the most important spiritual tools you can develop.

Because true guidance does not come from panic.

It comes from clarity.

Intuition

Intuition is the quiet inner knowing that rises up from your soul.

It often feels:

• calm

• clear

• steady

• neutral in tone

Even when the message is serious, intuition rarely feels chaotic or overwhelming.

It simply says:

"Pay attention."

Discernment

Discernment is the wisdom that helps you interpret what you are sensing.

It asks questions like:

• Is this fear or guidance?

• Is this my energy or someone else's?

• Is this intuition… or a past wound reacting?

Discernment helps you slow down and observe before acting.

Signs Your Intuition is Speaking

• The message feels calm, not urgent

• It returns gently again and again

• Your body feels grounded, not panicked

• The message is simple and clear

Intuition whispers.

Signs Your Fear or Wounds Are Speaking

• The message feels frantic or overwhelming

• It pushes you to act immediately

• Your body feels tight or anxious

• The story keeps changing

Fear shouts.

Sacred Tool: The Pause

When something feels intense, pause and ask yourself:

“Is this guidance… or is this a reaction?”

Take three slow breaths.

Let your nervous system settle.

If the message is still there after the calm returns…

That is often intuition.

Mantra

I trust my intuition.

I honor my discernment.

Together they guide me toward truth.
